The Prioritization Prolem (2)

The Eisenhower Matrix

Named for Dwight D. Eisenhower

Famous for managing enormous complexity under pressure

The framework is born

Eisenhower used a simple two-by-two grid to sort decisions by urgency and importance, and it was popularized by Steven Covey in 1989.

Why it stuck

We tend to react to what feels urgent, rather than invest in what is truly important.

The Priority Matrix

Places items into quadrants, like the Eisenhower Matrix

This will determine, of the four items, highest-to-lowest priority

More objective and measurable

Where the Eisenhower Matrix is more subjective, the goal of the Priority Matrix is to be more objective.

Adaptable to your needs

The Priority Matrix's axes can be adjusted to fit your organization's goals and the situation at hand.
